Team Building 2025: Throwing Sharp Objects with People We Love

Every once in a while, something hits you right in the feels—and sometimes it’s a hatchet. 😅

Last week, our crew headed to Bury the Hatchet in Bensalem, PA for our annual team-building day. And let me tell you, nothing brings a team together quite like chucking sharp objects at a wooden bullseye.

But what made this day extra special?

We were joined by our technically very first client ever—yes, Beer-A-Rama, the absolute legends who’ve been crushing the local beverage game for nearly 60 years (and yep, my wife’s family business, too).

Talk about full circle.

Beer-A-Rama was one of those early projects from the freelancing days—before logos, process docs, or any clue what we were really doing. They rolled with us back then, and they’re still rolling with us now. That’s loyalty you don’t take for granted.

And yes, the energy was high, the axes were flying—and your boy Jonesy came through clutch. I hit five “blue dot” corner bullseyes with Batarangs (yes, those Batarangs), and did it with 15 seconds left on the clock to earn that free T-shirt. Probably my proudest moment of Q2.

So, this wasn’t just about axes and targets. It was about community. Legacy. Throwing down with people who’ve been in the trenches with you since day one.

Also… turns out axe throwing is a pretty decent metaphor for running a business:

  • Line it up.
  • Breathe.
  • Trust your form.
  • And let it fly.

(Just don’t forget to keep it out of your foot.)

Big thanks to the team at Bury the Hatchet for the good vibes, cold drinks, and that unmistakable “I feel strong and mildly dangerous” energy you only get from hurling metal through the air.

Here’s to the next 60 years of Beer-A-Rama… and many more years of doing what we love with the people who helped us get here.
